Email configuration for iOS devices

Step-by-step Instructions to configure default mail app on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.) for your email.

To set up your email (ex. info@yourdomain.com) on iOS, follow these steps:


Step 1: Open Settings on iOS
1. Open "Settings" on your iPhone/iPad.
2. Scroll down and select "Mail".
3. Tap Accounts and then select "Add Account".


Step 2: Choose Account Type
1. Choose "Other" (typically at the bottom of the list).
2. Select "Add Mail Account" to start the setup process.


Step 3: Enter Your Email Information
1. Fill up the following fields:

  • Name: Enter the name you want recipients to see.
  • Email: Enter your full email address (ex. info@yourdomain.com).
  • Password: Type in the password for your email account.
  • Description: Enter a descriptive label, like “Info - yourcompany” for easy identification.

  • 5. Tap "Next" to continue.


    Step 4: Configure Server Settings
    1. Select IMAP as the account type (should be selected by default).

    Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) Settings:

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com (ex. mail.pixxelon.com)
  • Username: Your full email address (ex. info@yourdomain.com).
  • Password: Enter your email password.

  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) Settings:

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com (ex. mail.pixxelon.com)
  • Username: Your full email address (ex. info@yourdomain.com).
  • Password: Enter your email password.
  • Port: Choose either:
    • 465 for SSL
    • 587 for STARTTLS
  • 2. Tap "Next" to allow the iPhone to verify your settings.


    Step 5: Save and Finalize
    1. Once verified, tap "Save".
    2. Return to Settings > Mail > Accounts and select the new account to double-check the following:

  • SSL is enabled for both IMAP and SMTP.
  • Ports are correctly set to 993 for IMAP and 465 or 587 for SMTP.


  • Troubleshooting Tips:

    • Ensure that the correct ports are used:
      • IMAP: Port 993 with SSL/TLS
      • SMTP: Port 465 for SSL or 587 for STARTTLS
    • If you encounter issues, double-check that your email address and password are entered correctly for both incoming and outgoing mail servers.
    • Ensure you replaced mail.yourdomain.com with your domain (ex. mail.pixxelon.com).
